Prayer, Thought for Today

Most Precious and Merciful God YHWH, I thank You that You're a jealous God, because there are many god's worshiped in idolatry. Those god's have eyes but cannot see; hands that cannot touch with loving care; a mouth that cannot talk to the worshiper to let them be able to communicate with the god or goddess; feet that cannot walk; eyes that cannot see; no heart that has love for all peoples; no love to give a son to save the world through his death and resurrection. Thank You Lord for just being You and only You! without You giving Your Son for my salvation when I repentant-ed of my sins and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior to save my soul; I and others immediately were given Your Spirit that indwells in us; now I and others can communicate with You through Your Son Jesus Christ in prayer, and also become ambassadors and Your children. I pray that those that do not have Jesus as their Lord and Savior COME NOW for their salvation from Hades--hell. Again, thank You is my p…

Fresh Start Devotionals

Getting Real As I’ve gotten older, I’m less understanding about the waiting involved with office visits. Though I know that a 2:00 appointment, really means that the doctor will see me 2:45ish, waiting still irritates me to no end. I mean, if the doctor wanted to see me at 2:45, why not just schedule the appointment for then? As grateful as I am for the out-of-date magazines that they supply in the waiting room, I can usually think of a thousand places I’d rather be and an equal number of things I’d rather be doing. It’s tough being a patient. But you know, I bet it’s tough being a doctor too. I sure wouldn’t want to be putting a tongue depressor in people’s mouth and smelling their breath all day-and I don’t even want to think about the other places they have to routinely poke and prod. As frustrating as insurance companies are to the patient, the frustration doctors must experience must be multiplied by as many patients as they have. And then there’s the visit itself. I can only i…

Amazing Grace : 366 Inspiring Hymn Stories for Daily Devotions

March 6 NO, NOT ONE! Johnson Oatman, Jr., 1856–1922 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends … (John 15:15) He became poor that we might become rich (James 2:5). He was born that we might be born again (John 1:14). He became a servant that we might become sons (Galatians 4:6, 7). He had no home that we might have a home in heaven (Matthew 8:20). He was made sin that we might be made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). He died that we might live (John 5:24, 25). This is another of our favorite Sunday school songs that extols, in child-like language, our living Lord. It has a typical gospel song character in that it employs a repetitive phrase—“No, not one”—which allows people of all ages and backgrounds to join heartily together in the praise of Christ. Gospel songs such as this can teach even the youngest child the truth of the pre-eminence of our Lord and His nearness in every situation of our…
