Prayer

Almighty Father, I pray and bless You this Lord's Day as we Christian's celebrate and worshipYou. I bless You because there is no other god that have attributes like You. From Your Wordsin Genesis 1:1--"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."--tells me that Youare my God and there isn't no other god. John 3:16-17--"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17       For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."--tells me of Your love for me and all humans. I pray for those that are secular to come to Jesus for their eternal soul salvation. "18       He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19       And this is the condemnation, that light is come into…

Todays Sermon Starter

B.      The Apostle Paul recognizes three categories of people. “Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God” (1 Cor. 10:32).
         1.      The Jews constitute a separate definitive group of people whom God has chosen, who rejected His Messiah, who will suffer for it, and who will one day recognize Him whom they rejected (Matt. 23:37–39).
           a)      The Bible will be totally confusing to its student if there is no distinction made between the Jews and the other two groups, the Gentiles, and the church of God.
           b)      No matter how hard nations have tried to destroy the Jewish people and the Jewish nation, they have survived.
           c)      Today they have their own nation, though in unbelief toward the Messiah; but the day is coming when the Israel that will be at that time shall all be saved (Rom. 11:26). Israel is the only nation of the world that is indestructible, and it is distinguished from any other nati…

Inheritance

In his book,Winning Attitudes, John Maxwell writes, “From my earliest recollections I do not remember a compliment or affirmation from my father. His father also had thought it unmanly to express affection or even appreciation. My grandfather was a perfectionist who worked hard and expected everyone else to do the same without positive reinforcement. And since he was neither positive nor relational, he had constant turnover in employees. Because of my background it has been difficult for me to encourage my family. This critical and negative attitude has hindered my work. I raised five children and lived a Christian life before them. Sadly, it is easier for them to recognize my love for God than my love for them. They are all starved for positive affirmation. The tragedy is that they have received this bad attitude trait, and now I see them passing it down to my precious grandchildren. Never before have I been so aware of catching an attitude from surrounding conditions. Ob…

IN THE CROSS OF CHRIST I GLORY
John Bowring, 1792–1872
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (Galatians 6:14)
The cross has been the most significant symbol of the Christian faith throughout church history. It is said that as many as 400 different forms or designs of it have been used—among them the usual Latin Cross, the Greek Cross, the Budded Cross. Regardless of design, the symbol of the cross should always remind us of the price that was paid by the eternal God for man’s redemption. “In the Cross of Christ I Glory” is generally considered one of the finest hymns on this subject. It was written by John Bowring, one of the most remarkable men of his day as well as one of the greatest linguists who ever lived. It is said that he could converse in over 100 different languages before his death.
Some writers claim that John Bowring had visited Macao, on the South Chinese Coast, and…
