Corinth Market Place
After the destruction in 146 BCE, Julius Caesar rebuilt Corinth as the capital of the Roman province Achaia. The city grew rapidly thanks to the convenient location next to two harbors, and at the intersection of two trade routes. The picture shows the ruins of the marketplace.
