Siege of the City
The picture shows Assyrians trying to conquer a city. Besides weapons for shooting from afar (mainly arrow and bow, sometimes flaming arrows), the Assyrians often used movable siege engines designed to break the walls of the city fortification so as to be able to finally pull them down. As defense the inhabitants piled up debris on the inside of the wall of he city.
