Christ the Power and Wisdom of God

Christ the Power and Wisdom of God
18 a   Reason (17d)                                                            For the 7message of the cross
b   Affirmation                                                         is afoolishness to bthose who are perishing,
c   Affirmation                                                         but to us cwho are being saved it is the dpower of God.
19 a   Reason                                                                     For it is written:
b   Quotation                                                                      e“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
c   Quotation                                                                      And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

20 a   Question                                    fWhere is the wise?
b   Question                                    Where is the scribe?
c   Question                                    Where is the 8disputer of this age?
d   Question (Yes)                           gHas not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 a   Reason (20d)                                        For since, in the hwisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God,
b   Affirmation                                     it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 a   Cause (23)                                       For iJews request a sign,
     b   Cause (23)                                       and Greeks seek after wisdom;
23      Exclamation                               but we preach Christ crucified, jto the Jews a 9stumbling block and to the 1Greeks kfoolishness,
24 a   Topic (c)                                               but to those who are called,
b   Characterization (a)                                   both Jews and Greeks,
c   Characterization (23)                       Christ lthe power of God and mthe wisdom of God.
25 a   Cause                                                   Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men,
b   Cause (24c)                                          and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:18-25)[1]

A Threshing Floor

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
