Conquest of a city
The relief from the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal (669 to about 630 BCE) shows the conquest of an unnamed city, and its destruction by Assyrian soldiers. The houses were burned, the soldiers are razing the city wall to the ground by yanking out the bricks, and the valuables of the inhabitants are taken away as booty, and brought to Assyria.
