Axe idol

‎During excavations in Hazor, a hoard with metal objects were found under the floor of a house dating back to the 11th or 10th century BCE. Among these artifacts was a figurine representing an idol. It had a head of an ax attached around its waist. However, originally the figurine was not part of the ax, but was added later.

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
