Putting Off to Conform with Christ Jesus
By. Shirley Thomas

“Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, …(Colossians 3:9-10)”

Paul, the Apostle, bound in chains in prison, writes this letter to the Colossian church, admonishing them to stop their carnal ways of verse 5). In verse 6, he tells them of their sinful life, and their enmity with God (Eph. 2:2).
He further states, “upon the sons of disobedience (Eph. 2:2),when He returns, while giving Precedence of their past lives to God to show the renewing new man spiritually (Rom. 12:1; 2 Cor. 4:16; Rom. 8:29; Eph. 2:10).
Paul concludes his reproving to the Colossian church with a Sphere: “where”, and an Enumeration: “there is neither Greek nor Jew, (See Rom. 10:12; [1 Cor. 12:13]; Gal. 3:27, 28), and a List-Item:
1.    circumcised nor uncircumcised,
2.    barbarian,
3.    Scythian,
4.    Slave
Supplied: nor
5.    Free
And he closes with a Suggestion: “But Christ is all and in all (Eph.1:23)”.
What a tremendous word full of hope! Christ transforms us if we are will into new people in Him. People with a new heart can commune with God—fixed from the inside to show the new person in Christ Jesus.
This renewing is an inward fixation that is addictive to the born again Christian—with the indwelling Spirit of God! Christ Jesus will shine even to the outside with His light in us, that the world will see Jesus in the new creature.
Not only does the Bible say so, but, I KNOW JESUS FOR MYSELF!
How about you?

A Threshing Floor

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
