‎Egyptian craftsmen fashioned gold, silver, or clay into vases like the one pictured, with its stylized antelope heads, birds, and flowers. Such vases were often portrayed in paintings or stone relief sculpture. Beautiful luxuries like this surrounded Moses, adopted son of the pharaoh. He chose to identify with his Hebrew heritage, which entailed leaving such luxuries behind, obediently trusting God and suffering with God’s people.
