‎Is God working all things together for good, even those baffling and horrific things that involve suffering? Romans 8:28 tells us that “for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (ESV). The Old Testament version of Rom 8:28 is Gen 50:20. In that story, Joseph’s brothers betrayed him and sold him into slavery when he was only a boy. A Threshing Floor

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
