Monday - Scripture Lesson

God is my Defense
By: Rev. Lynwood F. Mundy

Psalm 59:1, 14-17

Scripture Lesson
The psalmist begins v. 1, asking God for deliverance from his enemies that Saul sent to kill him.
Further descriptions of his enemies in verses 15-16 tell that they-his enemies-are like dogs in the "evening," "growling," as they wander in search of food. (Compare Vv. 59:6; Job 15:23).
The psalmist sings in verses 16-17 describing God's "power," "defense," "mercy," and "refuge."

Note
Read Psalm 59 to savior its richness in your soul for what God will do for all of His children

A Threshing Floor

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
