Ashdod
Ashdod was one of the five main Philistine cities besides Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron and Gath. The drawing shows Ashdod as its reconstruction would have looked like in the 8th century BCE. Until today mainly mud-brick houses were discovered during its excavation. Palaces and temples are still missing. Even though the city seems to have been politically and economically quite important, it was not very different from other cities of the land at that time.
