Model, Antonia Fortress

Model, Antonia Fortress

‎The Antonia Fortress housed up to 600 Roman troops, the major resident Roman troop concentration in Jerusalem before the First Roman-Jewish War. Other scholars interpret Josephus’ description differently, asserting that a space of up to 600 feet (183 m) separated the fortress from the temple.
