‎Though this picture was taken in the early twentieth century, it illustrates a timeless principle: a watered and tended garden soothes the soul. The original terrestrial paradise was a garden where God talked with Adam face to face. Jesus himself sought contact with his Father in the Garden of Gethsemane. The eternal dwelling place of humans with God will be a city with trees in its midst.

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
