‎In Haram Ramath el-Khalil, about 3 km north of Hebron, Herod the Great constructed a shrine in memory of the cult site in Mamre that was connected to Abrahams altar. The picture shows the wall surrounding the sacred place; on the floor plan cf. Herod obviously no longer knew the exact location of the biblical Mamre that must be found nearer to Hebron.

Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
