Elizabeth Remained in Seclusion Excerpt Most likely, this was because of the excitement of the surrounding  people  to her pregnancy  ( Lk. 1: 25 ). Mary may have been the first person other than Zechariah and Elizabeth to know the news which the angel had delivered ( Lk. 1: 36 ). Luke did not say in verse  25  if Elizabeth knew about the destiny of her son at this time. However, because she knew that his name was to be John ( Lk. 1: 60 ) even before Zechariah was able to speak, he probably communicated his entire vision in writing.
