I'M IN THE 93%

The Devil and the Duck (I'M IN THE 93%) There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in  the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!  In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see  his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing. After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes", b ut Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the  kitchen."  Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?"  So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and  Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper....

Prayer, Thought for Today, Teaching

I pray this prayer for God's grace given to me a sinner above all sinners to choose me to the ministry. I have not been the same person since that calling, because Jesus is all in me, around me, underneath me to uphold me as I walk in the pathways of righteousness and above me to shine that divine light to follow. My prayer is to all that are secular to come while the breath and blood is warm in your veins; when you have died been secular, you will open your eyes in hell with an unquenchable fire inflicting such an agony as the Bible describes causing weeping and gnashing of teeth for eternity--no end. This my prayer is also for the saved in Jesus Christ to remember that they were conceived in sin, but by God's grace they were saved through faith, repentance, accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and then the Holy Spirit of God immediately came to dwell in their body [soul]. By this grace, me, you and the Apostle Paul were saved through Jesus Christ. Let us all as the Apost...

Prayer, Thought for Today, Teaching

My prayer today is for you to learn "What is Faith?" I pray that all will learn what faith means to them in a spiritual realm. Be blessed is my prayer for you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. - Rev. Lynwood F. Mundy WHAT IS FAITH? We may now fitly approach our second great term, Faith, and ask ourselves, What does it mean? As with Justification, so with Faith, we may best approach the answer by first asking, What does Faith mean in common life and speech? Take such phrases as, to have faith in a policy, faith in a remedy, faith in a political leader, or a military leader, faith in a lawyer, faith in a physician. Here the word Faith is used in a way obviously parallel to that in which, for example, our Lord uses it when He appeals to the Apostles, in the Gospels, to have faith in Him; as He did in the storm on the Lake. The use is parallel also to its habitual use in the epistles; for example, in Romans 4, where St. Paul makes so much of Abraham’s faith, in close connec...

Prayer, Thought for Today

Father, I pray for those that ask, "What is a prayer life?" Prayer is the catalyst in growing toward spiritual maturity. Through prayer, the believer draws on the riches of God’s blessing and power. Yet God is not a spiritual Santa Claus. While He listens to the prayers of His children, He does not always answer us in the way that we might want. His highest purpose for prayer is to usher us into His presence. For this reason a rich prayer life should include all of these elements: worship, confession, adoration, praise, thanksgiving, intercession, and requests. A preoccupation with prayer merely as a means to get what we want is a sign more of carnality than spirituality. Spiritual maturity is evidenced by both an intimate prayer life and a humble submission to the sovereign will of God. Gary C. Newton, Growing Toward Spiritual Maturity, Biblical essentials series (Wheaton, Ill.: Crossway Books, 2004). 58-59.

Prayer, Thought for Today

My prayer comes from a prayer for Solomon of which I have taken certain verses to conform to today's prayer for you. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, And the little hills, by righteousness. 4 He shall judge the poor of the people, He shall save the children of the needy, And shall break in pieces the oppressor. 5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun And moon endure, throughout all generations. 6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: As showers that water the earth. ... 8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the river unto the ends of the earth. ... Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only doeth wondrous things. 19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: And let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. 20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
