Worship

Worship By: Rev. Lynwood F. Mundy Scripture: John 4:23-24 WORSHIP — homage rendered to God which it sinful (idolatry) to render to any is created being (Ex. 34:14). Such worship was refused by Peter (Acts 10:25-26) and by an angel (Rev. 22:8-9). True worship to God is being aligned to secular ways of life now in a lot of churches. There are myriad of spiritual denominations that are being aligned with God’s true commands of worship to Him. There are financial, healing, prosperity, spiritual and contemporary churches. Then there are “Camp Meetings,” false fellowship, “prophetic counseling’s, meetings and conferences, “evangelistic meeting,” contemporary singings by known “rappers,” “contemporary recording artists and artistic dancing.” Many churches have idolatrous celebrations in worship for the many auxiliaries, pastoral assistants, church officers and districts. Preacher’s have a false worship with “Church and Pastor’s Anniversary.” It is known in many larger membership churches that the bigger the church—“mega-church”—God is worshipped in a higher and more serene atmosphere. That is false worship. There is the raffling of the kids in various contests which is an abominable sin as was sacrificing children to Baal. There also is the wearing of different colors to celebrate so-called religious celebrations in the churches; teas, wearing of hats contests; car washing and bake sales are consented by church ministers is also an abominable and detestable sin to raise money. With all of the worshipping services mentioned and there are more… money—filthy lucre—is the primary source of Exodus 34:14–16 (KJV 1900) 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. Genuine worship has to be empowered by the Holy Spirit that stirs man from within—indwelling—because God is a holy God and worship is to be to Him in His temple and to no other person (god). Man or woman when they use himself or herself to have an annual worship service to celebrate the Lord’s calling to the ministry in a church service, is committing an idolatrous and abominable act. It is false worshipping in the guise of a worship service to God, when actually it is to the pastor. Exodus 34:14 (KJV 1900) 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: The guise to this Scripture by pastors is that the congregants are actually helping the pastor celebrate their calling by God to the ministry with a celebration of the churches anniversary. What a farce to God and worshipping to Him when it is actually to the pastor. Preachers are the Shepherd of the flock of God; There is to be true teaching and preaching to the flock to God. When preachers do such guise of service to God because other churches are doing it should be reminded of the Apostle Paul to his young preacher/missionary Timothy: 2 Timothy 2:14–17a (KJV 1900) 14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: 2 Timothy 4:2–5 (KJV 1900) 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Acts 10:25–26 (KJV 1900) 25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. As with Peter to Cornelius “I myself as a man,” because Cornelius wanted to worship him. The same is when there is a worship service in the guise to God as “Church and Pastor’s Anniversary,” he or she is human created by the Creator and not to be worshipped as a celebration or anniversary. Revelation 22:8-9 (KJV 1900) And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren the prophets and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. I am not saying to any clergy that they would stoop as far as to place themselves as an angel of God, but in the realm of worship to God, worship services should only be to God in the church. John 2:13-15 (KJV 1900) 13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. Henceforth, place God back in to the service, for He alone is worthy of service in His church. Humble yourselves and become submissive to God’s will, and reconcile yourself to Him in service, and He will richly bless you in everything that you will need. John 13:16–17 (KJV 1900) 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. A Threshing Floor

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
