Citadel in Jerusalem
The palace where Jesus was convicted by Pilate, with all probability, was located in the area of the present-day citadel in Jerusalem near the Jaffa Gate. The foundation walls of the Tower of David pictured here date back to the time of Herod, but were razed by the Romans. The distinctly different younger wall is clearly visible in the upper parts of the tower.
