Prayer Heavenly Father, thank you for this day of your creation that you have blessed us with your grace and mercy. I stand in the gap for us saying thanksgiving praises and blessings to you. Although the remainder of the day is not promise beyond this second, I pray that we look forward to You for all our wants, needs, and health; Not only for our-self, but for all of the peoples of the world.  Thank You for caring for several readers that had surgeries this week; Thank You for this ministry that brings biblical truth 24/7 to peoples around the world no matter their race, creeds or religious affiliation freely; Thank You for the Christian posting of the ministry for the home-bound (sick and shut-ins), hospitalized, incarcerated and serving in the nations Armed Forces In Jesus' name I submit my supplications. Amen.

May 30: In Season and Out of Season 1 Chronicles 26:1–27:34; 2 Timothy 4:1–8 ; Psalm 89:23–52 I like to operate when I feel like I’m in control. When I haven’t gathered enough information or I feel uncertain of my circumstances, it’s tempting to avoid making a decision or taking action. Paul knew that this type of outlook was detrimental to Timothy’s ministry. He tells Timothy that regardless of his circumstances, he was required to act: “Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all patience and instruction” (2 Tim 4:2). Paul uses the certainty of Christ’s return to motivate Timothy to stick to his task (2 Tim 4:1). Although Timothy experienced times when it was not always convenient for him to act on his calling, he had been admonished by Paul about the importance of the work they were doing together: their calling. Angelic Announcement The angelic announcement proceeds in stages: the child’s name ( v. 13 ), the response to the child ( v. 14 ), the position and character of the child ( v. 15 ) and the mission of the child ( vv. 16–17 ) . Zechariah’s prayer is being answered. Since he had given up believing that God would give him a child ( v. 18 ), his prayer has probably been focused on the nation’s hope, especially since much of the angel’s message focuses on this point. Nonetheless, the child will also fulfill the personal desire of Zechariah and Elizabeth, being a cause of joy and delight for them and for many in the nation. So God is tackling two requests at once, one national and the other personal , a prayer that had long since been abandoned and all but forgotten.
