Fishing Already in antiquity, fishing in the Nile played an important role for the food supply. The relief shows three ships made of papyrus. On the left ship, a fish is being caught with several hooks on a fishing line; two fish traps are pictured beneath the boat in the middle; the fisherman in the right boat are using fishnets to catch fish.
