Jar Handles These storage jar handles from Hellenistic Dor are the earliest known examples of Palestinian pottery stamped with Greek letters. Stratigraphic evidence dates these finds to ca. 130 BCE, a full century after many have argued for a thorough going Hellenization of the Levant. (From Ariel et al. 1985:137f.)
