The Ark of the Covenant ‎As a symbol of God’s presence with Israel, the Ark of the Covenant was the center of Yahweh worship and was brought into the temple each year at Passover ( Psa 24:7–9 ). It housed the covenant tablets; an omer of manna and Aaron’s budding staff were either set before the Ark or in it ( 1 Kgs 8:9 ; Heb 9:4 ).
