Taken too soon By: Rev. Lynwood F. Mundy Too often we hear “Taken too soon” of the death of a person by family, friends, and newscasters. There are Christians that utter “Taken too soon” also in the death or hearing of a death of a family member, friend, enemy or church member. Are the words “Taken too soon” spoken by Christian’s, atheist, and secular persons correct? Or do God speak of taking a life too soon? The answer to both questions is a resounding, NO ! We must look at why God shortens man’s life: And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (Gen. 6:3, NKJV) Man’s lifespan is shortened because of sin . Is Genesis 6:3 contrary to God’s word? The answer is a resounding, NO ! Why then is this false charge against God’s word believable in the secular and portions of the Christian world?
