Some of its most prevalent wisdom, though, is framed around the subject of wisdom itself—what it is, how it acts, and how to get it. A quick Logos Bible search led me to 106 verses in the book of Proverbs that contained the words “wise” or “wisdom.” Here are seven that jumped out to me: Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. ( Proverbs 1:7 ) It’s foolish to think yourself wise. ( Proverbs 3:7 ) A wise person reads the instructions. ( Proverbs 9:9 ) In an argument, the quieter person is probably the wiser one.
