Prayer

Prayer Heavenly Father , I want to thank You for bringing me to see a new day of a new week. Hallelujah ! You did not have to do anything for me, but through Your grace and mercy , I write this prayer this moment because before my next key stroke, You could have sent the death angel to remove me from this sinful earth. I'm always mindful of You constantly in my daily walk. May this supplication remind the Christ ian reader to be mindful of You in their daily walk.  For those that are secular--not knowing Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior -- come now,  because the next moment is not known to you; if the death angle comes from heaven by the divine command of   YHWH , then you, will spent eternity in Hades --hell,  Sheol.  Your salvation is  free ,  all that you have to do is:  21" ... it shall come to pass  that whoever calls on the name of the  LORD  Shall   be saved.’"   Acts 2:21 .  COME NOW WHILE ...

Connect the Testaments: A Daily Devotional

March 24 Green Pastures : They Require Action Numbers 28:1–31 ; 1 Corinthians 10:23–11:16 ; Psalm 23 Love and complete reliance on God are interrelated concepts. When we discover what love really means, we want to praise God for it. When we learn to rely on God for all our needs, we see just how loving He is as He takes care of all aspects of our lives. And this love makes us want to show love to others. It’s those who don’t have who are most apt to come to Jesus . They’re most in need of love. For this reason, it’s hard for us who do have—a home, a car, enough food for a week—to fully understand reliance on Christ . It takes a different type of discipline. This is why it’s still shocking to me how many people absolutely love Psa 23. It’s comforting, I suppose, and that’s why: “ Yahweh is my shepherd ; I will not lack for anything. In grassy pastures he makes me lie down; by quiet waters he leads me” ( Psa 23:1–2 ). I think so many of us love it, though, because we’re a...

March 23, 2014 Lesson Worthy Is the Lamb Revelation 3:7 ; 5:5-13 ; 6:12–7:17 ; 22:16 This treatment of the International Sunday School Lesson is written by Sam E. Stone, former editor of CHRISTIAN STANDARD. ______ By Sam E. Stone Revelation was written by the apostle John. While he was in exile on the isle of Patmos around AD 95, God gave John a wonderful vision. It was designed to help the first-century believers as they faced increasing opposition and hostility. An angel came to him with a scroll, but no one could open it. John began to weep because of this. The Lamb Appears Revelation 5:5-7 Around God’s throne were a group of elders ( 4:9 , 10 ). One of them told John that  the Lion of the tribe of Judah , t he Root of David , has triumphed.  Therefore,  He  could open the scroll! The metaphor of  Lion  had been used to refer to Jesus in messianic prophecy ( Genesis 49:8-10 ). The  Root of David  also refers to Chris...
