Romans 12:3-8

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

3 For I say, (Rom. 1:5; 15:15; 1 Cor. 3:10; 15:10; Gal. 2:9; Eph. 3:7through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, (Prov. 25:27not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly, as God has dealt [Eph. 4:7to each one a measure of faith.

4 For ( 1 Cor. 12:12–14; [Eph. 4:4, 16]) as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,

5 so ([1 Cor. 10:17]; Gal. 3:28we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is  [John 3:27given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us (Acts 11:27) prophesy in proportion to our faith;

7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; (Eph. 4:11he who teaches, in teaching;

8 (Acts 15:32he who exhorts, in exhortation; [Matt. 6:1–3]he who gives, with liberality; [Acts 20:28he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, (2 Cor. 9:7with cheerfulness.

A Threshing Floor In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from its inedible husk (chaff) by beating it with a flail or walking animals on it—sometimes while towing a threshing sledge. Sledges were fitted with flint teeth to dehusk the grain more quickly. Other workers would turn the grain over so that it would be evenly threshed by the sledge.
