Thursday - Verse of the Day
Haggai 2:15-19
Promised Blessing
15 ‘And now, carefully (Hag. 1:5, 7; 2:18) consider from this day forward: from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord—
16 since those days, (Hag. 1:6, 9; Zech. 8:10) when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty.
17 (Deut. 28:22; 1 Kin. 8:37; Amos 4:9) I struck you with blight and mildew and hail (Hag. 1:11) in all the labors of your hands; ( Jer. 5:3; Amos 4:6–11) yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.
18 ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from ( Ezra 5:1, 2, 16; Zech. 8:9) the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it:
19 ( Zech. 8:12) Is the seed still in the barn? The vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day, I will (Ps. 128:1–6; Jer. 31:12, 14; [Mal. 3:10]) bless you.’ ”
